Research Description
My research addresses questions of authority in language planning/policy, specifically focusing on orthographic reform in France. I focus primarily on the intersection of standard language ideologies and national identity; I am also interested in the ways in which individual identities serve to construct larger group identities, particularly in online contexts. I investigate these issues through discourse analytic and digital ethnographic methods.
